I'll be back on the slopes as soon as possible and I'm raring to explore the off-piste. However, St Anton is no destination for novices - boasting some of the world's most revered off-piste terrain and attracting many of the world's greatest skiers and boarders. The resort has an inspirational range of peaks including the mighty Valluga at nearly 10,ft and the Schindler Spitze at more than 8,ft.

There is about miles of intermediate skiing between the Kapall-Gampen, Rendl and Stuben sectors of the lift network, making St Anton tough to beat. The handsome modern luxury chalet where Kim works in the film is not for rent in real life as it is actually the local Ski and Folk Museum. And it is well worth a visit, not only to learn about St Anton's importance to the origins of modern skiing but also to dine in as it houses one of the resort's top restaurants, the aptly named Museum.

But what is it really like to be a chalet girl in St Anton? I asked Victoria Jaggers, chalet services manager for luxury chalet operator Scott Dunn, for an insight. We're here to ski and snowboard in our spare time, more than to party. Victoria said that guests did often invite them to have drinks but she added: 'Generally we politely decline, just getting on with making sure the chalets are as homely as they can be and making lovely food.

After her roles in Ann Frank and Cemetery Junction, Jones is a rising star of British cinema, with Nighy going as far as to say that it was her presence in the film that convinced him to jump on board. And this script came in with her name attached to it, so that was appealing," he says. Jones is also refreshingly open, and keen to share her enthusiasm about the project. And this world is completely foreign to me. In a way this film is almost like a documentary, because it's so accurate about the British experience of the ski holiday.

I mean, have you been to the Krazy Kangaruh? It's insane. With those kinds of recommendation in our ears, there's only one place to head upon arrival back in St Anton. Crowds of pink-nosed skiers with huge steins of beer bask in the sun and watch cover bands churn out Euro hits. By the time the sun drops below the horizon, half of St Anton is swaying merrily, and it's a gentle form of chaos as everybody tries drunkenly to find their skis and head back down to town to carry on drinking.

Joining the madness is a fitting way to end any time on set. For the stars and crew, it means a couple more days in St Anton before relocating to the resort of Garmisch Partenkirchen.
