Which is better wookey or cheddar

Axbridge where I grew up is a few mins drive from Cheddar and has a lovely medievil square with a museum, your kids might be interested your elder at any rate. Wookey Hole I have no memory of really but I do know plenty of people who have been in recent years and really like it. Wells is a beautiful town not too far from Wookey, lots of shops and a lovely National Trust place.

Probs more to do for the rest of the day than Cheddar. I still think they'd probably prefer Wookey. I'll second Wells. We really like Wells for a wander round to look at the Cathedral and the moat etc. Longleat would be well worth the drive if its not too expensive for you.

I've been loads of times and never get bored. We were going to go in the Easter holidays but our son was taken to hospital ill the night before we had planned to go. It would be best suited to both age groups I think. There's so much to do. Cheddar gorge is nice but really it's just a load of nice shops at the bottom of a gorge. I can't see a 2 yr old wanting to walk up it for long as its not very exciting for them, Wookey hole would probably keep them more entertained.

Topic: Cheddar Gorge v Wookey Hole. OK On the way down toNewquay this year we are stopping over for a few nights midway. Should it be Wookey Hole or Cheddar Gorge? Or are there any other suggestions? Both are good, and not that far from each other, Cheddar has a good climb to the look out tower, which is great on a clear day, there is probably more to do and see at Cheddar too.

Cheddars nice - you can climb the tower, visit the caves and the town is pretty. The last time we visited we also popped into the cheddar cheese makers. If you've not been to Longleat before you may find spreading your visit over 2 days better too. If you buy the inclusive ticket you don't have to visit everything on one day and that way you've saved a bit of cash too not paying for Cheddar etc.
